Beirut - In the Mausoleum

This is one of my favorite beirut tunes.
For obvious reasons...
da watamelon rocks my socks.

utencils make art

forks and spoons can do the darnedest things.
We all know of their food-to-mouth capabilities...but do we also realize their other special tricks? Like, say paintbrush substitution? I did, just that with my
little artist buddy the other day.
We thought it was awesome.
...but, he's 5, so of course he thought it was awesome.
And then I came home, and ate this lil' slice of banana happiness.
wam bam. forks and spoons aren't just for eatin' pie.
...they ALSO make fridge-worthy painted masterpieces.

borders, and brothers.

red dress: target, velvet blazer: thrifted, boots: dolce vita for target

We love to kick back at borders. And also love to meet up with our little brother.
We saw his new apartment. And I stated my concerns about his safety, and his outerwear...which I always do...he never wears enough clothes.
It's surf shorts 365 days a year, for that sport. Not acceptable.
And he always remarks about what year I belong in, because of what I might be wearing.
Like, for example...
"hey-o-chap...is it 1902? Are you selling newspapers?"
or if I've piled on too many vintage items...
"hey, there Margaret, are you sad about world war 2?"
     or he'll just say
 "1972."
     or
"1996."

Anyway...this time it was "1970."

oh, brother. guffaw.
come on, now.

outfit post

hat: UO, leopard scarf: (my sisters closet), green printed blouse: Gloria Vanderbilt, sweater: no brand (also from my sisters closet), denim: Levis, ankle boots: thrifted

I didn't take any normal pictures that day, but I have served up to you this small feast of painterly sliced up garment bits.
I love the versatility of these little thrifted ankle boots. You should go find yourself some. I've been wearing them lots lately. And they sort of remind me of Bob Dylan, & that doesn't bother me one.bit.

I also get re-obsessed with just straight up 501 levis pretty frequently. They're kind of my 'when in doubt' casual pants. And I like hats in the same way I appreciate levis-or worn in denim.
Bad hair day? no problem.
You kind of feel like hiding? no problem.
You need to tone down, or dress up your outfit? no problem.
bam. easy accessory.

Enjoy your Sunday. Take comfort in your comforts.
