ancient of days

Deuteronomy 33:28 (The Message)

26-28 There is none like God, Jeshurun,
riding to your rescue through the skies,
      his dignity haloed by clouds.
   The ancient God is home
on a foundation of everlasting arms.
He drove out the enemy before you
      and commanded, "Destroy!"
   Israel lived securely,
      the fountain of Jacob undisturbed
   In grain and wine country
and, oh yes, his heavens drip dew.

...

if you haven't seen this documentary already, then you should.
Then after you watch that-might I also suggest Darren Wilson's sequel:
I watched furious love tonight with some friends
and we all really liked it.
you can watch the trailers, and purchase them on both websites.

four eyes

my socks set the tone for the morning.
I almost had no say, in the matter.
Pink for breakfast.
and pink for smellin' prettay.
Yellow is my favorite color, but today, it took a hike.
Sometimes colors can make decisions for you, I guess.

As for the rest of the day...
I went with a few of my favorite folks to do something very important...
Get ready to have a behind the scenes look at what was
a monumental affair:
Helping Dad pick out new glasses.
He's had the same style of eyeglasses for 30+ years.
For everyone in my family-this was a big deal.
It's really unfortunate that we couldn't all be present for this one.
We've sort of made and pronounced much of how he looks
as the epitome of all things trademark and influential.
I can't tell you how many drawings, gifts, cards,
& jokes revolve around his signature spec's.
He's practically famous for it.
Seriously.
So but anyway...he got the bottom two.
and basically I hung out with these dudes for the rest of the day.
We ate at fatburger (dad's choice) to celebrate his newness.

I wore this equally girl-y blouse to pair with my girl-y socks.
p.s. As a child I had some pretty standout glasses, myself...
they were plaid-printed round-wired golden-glinting beauties.
and most notably...
they were
pink

Oh brother of mine

Little brother took me for a ride in his eagle talon today.
He's so much fun to cruise with.
I followed him around while he ran errands.
We sure did stop at a sporting goods store.
because one can never have enough sporting goods.

oh, and he bought be coffee. because he's so nice and cute.

54 years old

We do what we do. We have no problem celebrating this guy.
Took him to outer space this time.
He spent the day drinking coffee, playing games, eating delish grub,
and watching this...
all.day.long. aye aye aye
So I appropriately didn't change out of my football pj's for most of the day.

Good ol' dad.
